Add them on to your wall and there you go! A good DIY decoration idea.

Canvas Prints

Canvas prints are one way to decorate almost any room. They are one of the most aesthetically pleasing and soothing designs that you can add to your homes.

But the best place for these room decor DIY ideas art pieces is right above your bed. Just buy some canvas pallets, spray paint, and design away!

We have a great guide on how to create one here.

Big Wall Stickers

This isn’t exactly a DIY idea, but I think this has a rightful place in this category.

But you‘ve to stick these stickers on the wall yourself – making the idea a semi DIY (:

Generally, having any design on the walls tends to make your room look bigger.

If you don’t believe us, you could try it out and let us know what you think!

The best place for these stickers is probably in your office. You can use these stickers as a source of motivation for you and your employees. The decoration is not the only thing that you’ve to keep in mind, you need to look at the wellbeing of your people as well.

Art From Strings

Question: What do you think that you’d need for this funky DIY art?

Let me tell you: you’ll need different strings of different colors, small nails, and a wooden pallet.

The strings and nails can easily be found at home – yep, go look around in the tool shed; it’s bound to be there. The only thing that you’d actually need is the wooden pallet.

It’s really simple actually: all you have to do is use the nails as a stencil and then wind the string around the nails.

Take a look at the image above to get an exact idea of what we’re talking about.

As some women would say – cute room decor!

DIY Lava Lamp

Were you aware of the fact that you can make these on your own? Well, it was a bit of a shocker to me.

So, being the competitive person that I am, I decided to do some research and learn it!

And guess what!? It’s super simple!

All you need is an empty glass bottle, vegetable oil, food coloring, and some Alka-seltzer.

Fill most of the bottle with vegetable oil, add water, few drops of food coloring, and then break the Alka-seltzer tablet into small pieces.

Voila! Magic!

Easy, huh?

Minimalist Room Decor

For quite some time now, minimalist room decor ideas have been popular in town.

Especially for millennials and youngsters.

Mostly minimalists tend to decorate their bedroom because it’s the one place where you go to clear your mind, take a breather, and the most comfortable place for you to escape.

Let’s take a look at what minimalists add to their room.

Lights Around The Window

If you have a big window in your room then you could add some ferry light on there. I think you’d agree when I say that it’s a great idea – especially if you want the ‘su casa’ element in your home and are one of the best minimalist room decor ideas.

Though lights are amazing, soothing, and very mood centric; you don’t need to add multi-colored lights. It completely eliminates the concept of “minimalism.”

But, if you don’t have a window above your bed, you can always stick the lights on the wall overhead.

Majority of the girls out there love this idea.

Dark Bed Sheets

The entire concept of cool room decor is to make sure that you have a cozy home. You need to pay special attention to the colors that you decide to pair up.

Remember, not everything goes with everything (it’s a lot like fashion if you look at it). Anyway, as I was saying, if you pick a specific color theme, stick to it in one area, and not the entire house. For the rest of the house, you could go for something that matches your theme.

Which is why you should never add a dark tone to a dark hue. You could add a dark hue and a light tone or visa-versa.

For instance, always keep your walls light and your bedsheets dark.

Carpet

Adding a carpet is always a good idea. It’s soft, goes with your theme, and your personality.

For example, placing a tiny table at the end of your carpet with a chair (if you want) – only makes your room cozier.

Take a look at the image above to understand what I’m trying to say.

Room Without a Bed

The image above is something that you only see in movies – where the house has a complete Boho vibe.

But did you know that it’s a lot more comfortable to be able to sleep on just a mattress? It’s fun too.

To be honest, it’s something different, and not your mainstream basic decor in 99.9% of houses.

Hipster Room Decor

Okay, so you know that the basic and entire concept of cool room decor is nothing but portraying your personality in a stylish way, right?

One of the most common personality traits among youngsters nowadays is “hipster.” And of course, they want their homes to look ‘hip’ too.

Take a look at the image below to have a better understanding of hipster decor.

Does it look messy to you?

Even if it does look messy, that doesn’t mean that it doesn’t look nice. It’s a nice kind of messy, don’t you agree?

Peg Board

Hipsters are all about cool room decor and  doing things their own way, which is why having a pegboard in as a part of your decor is a great idea.

Pegboards are a great way for you to make your own quotes and display your thoughts.

Grafomap Poster

Part of being a hipster is having your own Grafomap poster.

These maps play a huge role in soothing aesthetics. Graphomaps posters can also be personalized to your liking and to your style.

Take a look at the image and see how well this map goes with the entire theme of the room.

Mandala Wall

This is one of the most hipster room decoration ideas.

You can call someone over who can draw this on your wall or buy a big sticker from Amazon or eBay.

Of course, if you can draw it yourself, you’re all set.

There are a lot of hipster room decorations that can be used for this purpose. Almost anything that isn’t a part of your everyday traditional decor.
